We try to make preparing for a Chewonki summer as easy as possible. Please read your child’s packing list carefully. We’ve been doing this for a long time and recommend that you follow these suggestions. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions.
One way we help build a sense of community is by asking everyone to wear the same Chewonki shirts. Each 3-week or 7-week camper must bring 6 Chewonki shirts to camp. 10-Day campers should bring 3. Of these Chewonki branded shirts, at least one should be white or light grey. We also recommend one that is synthetic/poly material (we call them “tech shirts”), particularly for the 3-week and 7-week campers. These will be practical for their wilderness trips.
Check back here this winter for information on where to obtain t-shirts. Please note that financial aid recipients are eligible to receive a loan of the required Chewonki t-shirts.
It is a camp tradition for everyone to dress up on Sunday mornings and for our end-of-session banquet. Nothing fancy is needed, but a nice collared shirt or polo is perfect for these occasions.
Is available for our international campers and must be requested in advance.
As always, you are welcome to call (207-882-7323) or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org at any time!
