Wilderness Adventure for Older Campers
The Ospreys are the oldest camper group at Chewonki. Our unique Osprey program combines a residential camp experience with an extensive wilderness adventure.
Ospreys are expected to provide leadership to younger campers and take a mature interest in their own development. Between trips, Ospreys partake in activities designed especially for them as well as our standard camp activities.
Canoeing, Hiking, Kayaking Trips
Three-and-a-half-week Ospreys will go on a week-long canoeing, hiking, whitewater kayaking, or sea kayaking trip which they may select when they register for camp. No previous experience is required.Read more about Osprey Trip Options
Seven-week Ospreys have the opportunity to engage in more in-depth endeavors. Past opportunities have included wooden boat building, focused areas of skill development, and service projects. Seven-week Ospreys go on three wilderness trips, choosing from canoeing or backpacking trips. For many Ospreys, the cabin wilderness trip is the most memorable part of their Chewonki experience, providing an opportunity to create strong ties with the cabin group and learn more about themselves.Register Today
